I've not made any plugs yet. Is FF meta render: FFRend? I've used FFrend, it's cool.

Yes -

FFRend supports plugin authoring, which means you can export a FFRend project as a Freeframe plugin. The exported plugin is called a metaplugin, because it uses other plugins as components. A metaplugin can be used in any Freeframe-compatible host application, and behaves as if you were running the equivalent project in FFRend.

Right, I use the meta plugins in After Effects, but for some reason they don't work so well, I guess this might be down to Pete's FF host in After effects not FFrend. I'd still need to find Wavewarp as a FF plugin before I could even use it in FFrend though, no?

Maybe "Inside us all" have it? I'll have to spend some more time digging.

They should work OK in VJamm, and by chaining 2 plugins you might be able to make the effect you're looking for.
